Brightly colored liquid watercolor
Snowball maker (optional)
My boys love their snowball makers, although I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of snowball fights. So when the snow was perfectly sticky we created this activity instead!
First, we used the snowball makers to make perfectly round snowballs.
I then added the liquid water colors to plastic cups and let the boys start painting! For our exploration we used neon liquid watercolors. We also used the watercolor paint without adding any water, so we could get as bright a color as possible. It would also work well with slightly watered down paint.
The paint soaked into the snowball, and did change the shape slightly, but also kind of glowed as it soaked in.
The boys made several snowballs. Each one was colorful and unique!
In the end, they were so proud of their snowballs they decided to put them onto our fence posts so our neighbors could see them too. We had made enough to top all the fence posts in our yard.
They only lasted a day but we loved their fun color while we had them! And I'm pretty positive we just might wind up with enough snow in the next few days to make them again.
